Chapter 6
(GGCapt POV)
As I turned to confront the elders my Lt.
spoke up alerting me to yet another problem flying in from the east.
“Capt, two
more dragons spotted…they seem to be flying from the east…”another guard shows
up handing over a report. “A….Capt. four more dragons spotted from the west…” (Lt)
Everyone’s
face went pale. The GGCapt and his Lt. were doing what they could reestablish order.
“We’re all
gonna die!”
“It is too
late to ask to be forgiven the gods have abandoned us…”
“Calm Down!
Just Calm Down nothing has happened yet it seem the first dragon to arrive hasn’t
even killed the children that are accompanying it…” (GGCapt)
“””””CHILDREN!
Whose children?!”””””””” (Everyone there)
“What does
that dragon want with them and why does the dragon look like that deathrock!!!”
“As of right
now we believe that deathrock was in actuality a dragons egg and the dragon
outside is the dragon who hatched from said egg what it wants from the children
is still unknown. We have yet to have the chance to converse with the children
or the dragon in question”
As soon as
the Capt. said that the crowds of people there were thrown into an up roar when
the Capt. Saw this he back up a bit and turned to his Lt. to ask him what they
should do. Until one of the elders spoke.
“Everyone
quiet down! I have a solution, that dragon must be here for the one who
survived if we give her to the dragon then we should be able to appease the
dragon…”
The crowd of
people began to calm down and looked toward the Elder who was speaking.
“Several men
go and find that girl and bring her here we will offer her to the dragon it
should be enough to appease the dragon!”
Everyone at
first was appalled by the elder suggestion however there was no one who raised
a voice of objection with in the crowd, the crowd only went silent, and then a
few men left, to search for Lily, however before they even gotten ten feet away…
“I can’t
believe you people would even consider going along with that to think that it
comes down to a weak little girl to save you adults!” (???)
Everyone was
shaken when they heard the voice and looked around to see where it came from.
“What right
do you have to judge us boy whoever you are? In the bigger picture it is 1 life
verse hundreds? Could honestly you ask hundreds of people to die to save one
little girl? Especially one little girl who can’t do anything, but eat, breath
and crap? Hmm…?” (Elder)
“””Mhmm,
Mhmm””””” (Group of Elders)
Everyone was
silent and hung they’re heads low no one could deny what either side said,
however what the elder spoke maybe true, but for many the very thought of
actually relying on Lily’s sacrifice to just save the town didn’t sit well.
Nobody wants to die that is certain and would do anything
they could to survive, however to what extent would it be acceptable to
sacrifice the life of a young child to appease the dragon’s rage? Will it just
be Lily and stop there or will it be ten children or maybe more? No one knows
because…
“My name is Jeff, if you must know! Right now I am one of the
children standing next to the dragon!” (Jeff)
Everyone of course turned to look toward the dragon. The
dragon as it were was on the verge of killing everyone there had Jeff not
spoken or the currently sleeping Little Lily on his back which would be injured
or even killed should he move suddenly.
“Elder are you so sure that this dragon even wants Lily’s
life? Maybe what the dragon wants is actually to save the life of that very
little girl and by killing her you’d actually be sentencing everyone in the
village to their deaths?”
“What are you talking about there is no way that a weak and
pathetic girl like her could be able to bring that dragon to save her! That
dragon is the very one who killed her parents! Have you forgotten that! That dragon
or when that dragon’s egg was still unhatched it killed anyone who tried to get
too close to it. Why would it spare or protect the life of one insignificant
brat!” (Elder)
At this
point the Dragon was enraged, the lightening field surrounding the three was
beginning to intensify and gradually expand the dragon turned to look at Jeff,
he nodded and slowly in front everyone helped the second child down. From the
back of the dragon the child everyone saw was the very child they were speaking
of. No sooner had Lily been removed from the Dragon’s back it lunged forward
into crowd of Elders instantly killing half of them that were touched by the
Lightening field, many of the other people screamed and frantically tried to
get as far away as they some were even going to attempt to grab their families
and escape the village however it had already been too late every gate in the
village was guarded 3 or more dragons, each of the dragon roared and bellowed scorching
hot flames towards the ground in front of the gates threatening anyone who
attempt to leave with death.
At that
moment everyone collapsed to the ground, there was no escape from this place
this was to be their cemetery. No chance for escape and no chance to ask for
mercy.
“We’re doomed;
Death has come for the rest of us…”
As everyone
fell into the pit of despair everyone watch as the group of elders were in
every direction save for one, the head elder the who had been speaking the
entire time was currently trying to crawl away on his back, however the elders
would be escape was cut short as the dragon crushed both his legs under his
claws after having laid waste to the other elders many of them were dead but a
few still drew breath whether they lived or not no one knew…
Suddenly the sky grew darker as if some was
slowly turning the lights off in a windowless room, but they were outside and
there were no clouds in the sky and it was still just mid-day then as everyone
looked to the sky they heard a cold dark voice echo in their ears…
“You vile piece of shit! I have heard enough
of your insults towards MY master I should kill you where you stand along with EVERY
LAST OF ONE YOU, who lives in this village! For you to even THINK of offering
my master’s life to save your own lives is to me a crime punishable with DEATH!”
(Dragon)
“”””””Hiiiii!”’’’’’’’’’’’(Everyone)
As the
dragon spoke everyone was petrified not daring to speak or move all they could
do was tremble where were and pray they and their families may be spared!
However not everyone was as smart as the rest the Elder just had to speak
further.
“What are
you talking about no one insulted your master! We only spoke of that PATHETIC GIRL…there,
when have we ever spoke ill of your master huh…?? ” (Elder)
At this
point everyone just stared at the elder in disbelief they could not fathom how
this elder could not get the hint that the very girl he had been insulting WAS
the dragon’s master. Before anyone could say anything…
The roar of
a dragon just over head was heard then landed just a few feet away from the
back of the dragon a jumped down calling out to the dragon…
“Wait! Don’t
do it, don’t kill that man I know your upset and don’t wish to talk right now
but please here me out!” (???)
Everyone
turned to look toward the man who had just appeared and begun pleading to the dragon;
however the dragon was in mood to entertain this man who showed up out of
nowhere. He sent a clear and violent response to the man. With an enraged look
the dragon sent several streaks of lightening hurtling toward the man, but
before they could reach their target the man’s dragon intervened and jumped in
front of him shield him from the and roared loudly toward the attacker she
remain guarded, but showed no aggressive moves towards the other dragon, the
two stood there staring at each other.
After a
while the Elder tried to crawl away, but was quickly stop as the dragon stomped
on the elders left arm, crushing it into a bloody pulp.
“AH…..!!!”
(Elder)
“You vile piece of shit! Where do you think you
are going! YOU can hope for is a quick death.” (Dragon)
The dragon
quickly lifted it foot getting ready to smash the Elder into the ground when…
“My Prince!
Please wait! Please reconsider try to subdue your anger… That little girl over
she is your master right I do not think she would be happy to have more people
die in her name, so please think about it.” (Mans dragon)
The Dragon
Prince stopped his attack and lowered his foot and looked towards his little master
looking down he shook his head and backed off walking over toward his master…
“Fine, you
deal with him! I will not accept any other judgement then death for that garbage;
however I’ll leave it to you or that man to decide… Jeff go do what I told you
to do MY master needs warmer clothes, and she’ll be hungry and thirsty when she
wakes, go and find her some now! …By the way what is your name? I would give
you mine however I have not received my yet because shortly after I hatched she
had fallen into a deep sleep and hasn’t awoken yet to give me one.” (Dragon
Prince)
“I
understand your highness and I thank you for your benevolence. My name is Emelth,
Emelth The Wise and Soft-Spoken.” (Emelth)
“Eeemelth,
then that means…that man is…” (Villager)
“You’re
Majesty, Are you alright?!" (GGCapt)
